Jason Van Dyke found “guilty” of 2nd degree murder, “guilty” of aggravated battery with a fire arm on all 16 shots and counts of shooting and killing Laquan McDonald. He was found “not guilty” of official misconduct. Justice is served.
Shame on the Chicago Police Department, defense attorneys, the mayor’s office, and the FOP for trying to superimpose a fictitious narrative of what happened by creating a Grand Theft Auto stylized video game simulation to demonize Laquan McDonald.

Laquan McDonald is a martyr now. William Calloway and journalist Brandon Smith, filed a Freedom of Information Act which released the video of Chicago Police Officer Jason Van Dyke firing 16 fatal shots at Laquan McDonald. Without these two citizens and muckraking journalists, the cover up probably would have succeeded. The day has finally come when justice has been served.

The FOP is still backing and defending Jason Van Dyke’s actions. The president of the Chicago FOP, Kevin Graham, blames the verdict on politicians, the courts, the jury, the judge, the public, and the news media.
Attorney Dan Herbert said that this, “is a sad day for law enforcement.” He likened the case to being in a boxing match with Mike Tyson. He felt that the odds were stacked against the officer. The video simply didn’t lie. Clearly it was 16 shots and a cover up. Jason Van Dyke is found guilty on 2nd degree murder and 16 counts of aggravated battery with a firearm.
